Original AMG M119 6.0 V8 Engine

Original AMG M119 6.0 V8 Engine

Own a true piece of AMG history — this Original AMG M119 6.0 V8 early version engine is one of the rarest and most desirable powerplants ever built by AMG Affalterbach before its full merger with Mercedes-Benz.
This specific engine was originally installed in the early R129 SL models and also used as a hybrid configuration in the M117/9 6.0 AMG, combining the robust AMG 6.0 displacement conversion with the refinement of the M119 DOHC 32-valve architecture.

With only 80,000 km, and all AMG 6.0 factory stamps present on the block and camshafts, this unit represents a true collector-grade engine — ideal for period-correct R129, W124, or W126 AMG builds.

Technical Specifications

Performance & Engineering Heritage

The AMG M119 6.0 is legendary for its refined brutality — a perfect fusion of high-revving dual-overhead-cam precision and raw AMG torque.
Hand-assembled by AMG technicians, this early version represents the transition period between the M117/9 6.0 AMG SOHC engines and the later DOHC M119 AMG power units.
These engines powered the R129 SL60 AMG, E60 AMG, and other custom pre-merger builds, delivering supercar-level performance in elegant Mercedes chassis.
